| From its inception and throughout the changes
over the years, the focus of Millwood Lumber has always been on quality
customer service. Located in the heart of Millwood in Westchester County,
NY. Millwood Supply (as it was known then) was originally owned by the Rotta
family before the Miller family bought the company in 1972. The Millers
expanded the building materials part of the business in response to the
booming commercial and retail building market. Millwood Supply quickly
became a full-service lumber yard, offering a wide range of building
products and later, Marvin Windows.
The Millers sold the business to Fred Cohen in 2001. Fred, who came with
over 35 years of experience in the building materials industry, capitalized
on Millwood’s strengths. He implemented many new initiatives, including a
state-of-the-art lumber racking system which substantially increased the
quantity of lumber inventory to meet customer demand. In 2003, to
better reflect the business of the company, he changed the name to Millwood
lumber.
With Fred’s untimely death in March of 2006, his
wife Holly, in partnership with Michael Malara, Michael Speller and a
dedicated team of employees, remains committed to our tradition of providing world-class
customer service to our customers as well as anticipating and meeting their
building needs. |
